Preserves and aids in the control of bacteria and fungi in household products such as:  detergent products including liquid laundry detergents and liquid dishwashing detergents; fabric softeners; liquid soaps; room deodorizers / air freshners; water based surfactants; carpet shampoos; polishes; waxes; polymer emulsions and water-based gels / emulsions for household products and textiles. 

Preserves and aids in the control of bacteria and fungi in industrial products such as:  polymer emulsions and natural latex; surfactant solutions; tackifiers derived from resin and hydrocarbon resins; water-based adhesives; sealants, joint cements and caulks; latex for paper coatings; metalworking fluids (soluible and emulsifiable-type aqueous systems); water-based gels for industrial products and textiles; and water-based inks. 

As a preservative in the manufacture of alkaline, acid and emulsion-based metal cleaning fluids typically used in electroplating, electrodeposition, phosphatizing, galvanizing and general metal cleaning operations. 

As a preservative in the manufacture and use of high water-based hydraulic fluids and invert emulsion hydraulic fluids typically prepared by emulsifying 40% by volume water and 60% by weight mineral oil using an oil-solubilizing emulsifying agent.
